About Morasha
Making Gemara Accessible to Every Talmid
Morasha was created to help address a challenge that many parents, rebbeim, tutors, and schools see every day.
A talmid may be bright, sincere, and capable, yet still feel lost in Gemara. He may be able to read the words but struggle to understand the structure. He may know some vocabulary but not follow the flow. He may sit in class, try to keep up, and slowly begin to feel that Gemara is not for him.
Morasha exists to help change that.
The Vision Behind Morasha
Gemara is complex. It requires students to manage language, vocabulary, structure, reasoning, memory, and abstract thinking all at once.
When these skills are taught clearly, more talmidim can experience success.
Morasha’s vision is to help change the way Gemara struggles are understood.
Instead of seeing a struggling talmid as unmotivated or unable, Morasha looks more carefully at why the talmid is struggling and the skills behind the struggle.
Important questions include:

Does the talmid understand the key words?

Can he follow the structure of the Gemara?

Can he identify the question and answer?

Can he explain the reasoning?

Does he understand the flow of the sugya?

What support would help him become more independent?
When these questions are asked clearly, support becomes more targeted and more effective.
About Rabbi Avraham Cohn
Rabbi Avraham Cohn is an educator, intervention specialist, dyslexia specialist, teacher trainer, and co-developer of Key to Kriah, with over 15 years of experience.
His work focuses on helping students access learning through research-based, clear, structured, and skill-based instruction. He specializes in reading intervention, kriah, Chumash and Gemara skills, assessments, educational support, and teacher training.
Through his work with students, parents, teachers, and schools, Rabbi Cohn saw the need for a clearer approach to Gemara support one that looks carefully at the specific needs of each talmid and the skills needed to help him succeed.
Morasha is built around the belief that many talmidim can succeed when Gemara is taught in a clearer, more structured, and more skill-based way.
